Age 79, passed away May 2, 2015. Born September 26, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan. Lifelong resident of Jackson. Preceded in death by her parents Leslie Alfred & Naoma “Brownie” (Stanbridge) Waggener, loving and caring husband of 52 years, Frederick Aaron Gansmiller.
She is survived by children Michael Aaron (Teddy) and James Dale (Margot) of Jackson, Michigan, and David Lee of North Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Nichole, Mark, Ashley, Kelsey, and Rick (Erika) all of Jackson, Michigan, Andrew of Lake Forest, California and Allison of North Canton, Ohio; five great-grandchildren; brother James (Virginia) Waggener, many nieces and nephews, and her boyfriend Alvin Hawley.
Lee Ann graduated from Jackson High School, then attended Jackson Community College and Eastern Michigan University, where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education. She taught most of her career as a third grade teacher at Northwest Schools. She retired in 1987 after nearly 30 years of teaching. She enjoyed sewing, and after retirement, she became an active quilter, making dozens of quilts over the years as well as teaching sewing and quilting. She was a member of the National and local Hosta Society, Jackson Genealogical Society, the Historical Society, and longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday May 8, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Interment at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday 10:00 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kitchen Kids at Calvary United Methodist Church.
