Lataveon Dupree Cosey

Of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2020. He was born January 29, 2004 to Amber Nastally and Deontae Cosey-Banks in Jackson. Lataveon came from a large family that loved him dearly. He was a wonderful big brother and a protector of his mother. As the eldest grandchild, Lataveon had a special relationship with maternal grandmother, Christine Hughes. He loved to make people laugh and was a great friend to his peers. Lataveon was an awesome basketball player. God gave us 16 wonderful years, we loved him with all our hearts. On August 25th, 2020, his life was taken from us, and he was called home by The Heavenly Father. He is our angel in heaven now. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Amber Nastally and Deontae Cosey-Banks; brothers, Tray’von Cosey and Jalon Perdue; sister, Lariiah Cosey; maternal grandparents Christine Hughes and Frank (Robin Mead) Nastally; paternal grandmother, Brenda Hill; maternal aunts, Rachael Nastally and Shellby Bartkowiak; great-grandparents Susan and John Kibele; maternal uncles, Jacob and Kenneth Nastally; paternal aunts, Sharmika (Ramon Hill) March, Lunya Cosey-Banks, Tasha Cosey-Banks, Nesha Williams, Krystal Hill, and Amber Kietnutski; maternal uncles, Alan Banks, Shavontae and Maurice Cosey-Banks, Albert Hill Jr., and Anthony Norfleet Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lataveon is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Willam Joiner and Diana Banks Joiner; great grandmother Dolores Bannan; and Tony Cosey. He is gone from this Earth but never from our hearts. Family will receive friends at Patience Montgomery Funeral Home, 406 First Street, Jackson, MI on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to, Rise Above riseabovejxn.org, 936 Fleming Ave., Jackson MI. Per CDC requirements and State of Michigan mandate, social distancing and masks will be required.
