Age 52, passed away with family members at her side, August 16, 2016 under the care of Bronson Residence Hospice of Battle Creek. She is survived by her parents, Fred and Cheryl Cox, of Battle Creek; two sons, Eric and Daniel Miller, of Mason; a brother, William Krueger (Angela); and two nephews, William and Samuel Krueger, all of Marshall. Kelly’s family is especially grateful for the lifelong care she received from Dr. Larry Jennings. Born February 10, 1964 in Trenton, MI, Kelly lived her life in Jackson graduating from Northwest High School. She became a certified Medical Assistant, exhibiting remarkable empathy for others. An animal lover, Kelly rescued and placed many lost and feral animals. She also bred Salukis who won American and Canadian championships. Kelly is remembered for her COURAGE. She survived leukemia as a child, endured “being different”, and eventually she achieved remission. In 2012, her disease returned as endometrial cancer that metastasized to her bones. She fought, always with faith and belief in GOD, for over four years. She remained positive, humble, and always expressed concern and empathy for others; Kelly was loved for that warm, loving personality. “Yes. Please.” Kelly would politely answer when offered medication or other measures to make her more comfortable. She followed that with “Thank you” because, despite the agony and indignities of death by cancer, Kelly remained faithful to God, grateful to others, and humble. Kelly faced her destiny with COURAGE. May Kelly, so loving and compassionate in life, at last find peace and love in Heaven. “Yes. Please.” A funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First church of the Nazarene (3905 Clinton Rd M-50), with visitation held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the funeral home from 1:00pm-5:00pm and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until time of service. Kelly will be laid to rest at Draper Cemetery.
