Passed away December 2, 2020 at the Allegiance Hospice Home of Jackson. Karen was born July 4, 1951, the only daughter of Grace and Raymond Ripley of Jackson, Michigan, joining five brothers to complete the family. She graduated from Vandercook Lake High School in 1970. During her working years, she was employed at Quality Farm and Fleet. She later did house cleaning and child care on a part-time basis. Eventually, she had to quit work altogether to care for her ailing father. She had been in declining health for several months and was admitted to the hospital in October with cirrhosis of the liver. In recent years, she had enjoyed her friends at Vandercook Missionary Church and helping wrap and pack Christmas boxes for Operation Christmas Child. She was grateful for special friends Sandy and Kay, who had been a great help and comfort, as well as her brother Dennis. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1986, her father in 2008, and a brother Steven in 2009. She leaves behind four brothers Michael (Donna) of Howard City, MI; Brian of Riverdale, UT; Dennis of Jackson; and Philip (Pam) of Jackson as well as many nieces and nephews. Karen was cremated as she wished with arrangements cared for by Patience Montgomery Funeral Home.The service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Oak Chapel, 1425 Seymore Road, in Jackson on Friday, June 25, 2021. Visitation 1:00 - 2:00, service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tom Burgett of Vandercook Missionary Church officiating. Burial will follow immediately after.
