Johnny Eugene Harrell, son of the late Mattie Laura Foxx and Eugene Harrell was born on December 27, 1949 in Henderson, Tennessee. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was added to the Lords Church; Oak Grove Church of Christ. In his younger days he preached under Dr. James Thompson. He attended Vincent High school and was a 1967 graduate. Soon after in January of 1968 he made his home in Jackson, Michigan. Johnny was employed as a machine operator at Wyman Gordon for 26 years and Harvard Industries for 14 years until they closed. He later retired from Community Action Agency (Head start) in 2010 after 18 years. He had a love for nice cars and motorcycles and joined Boogie Down M/C in 1986 and served as president for two terms. After his retirement he spent his time working on his 1984 El-Camino and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Higby Street Church of Christ which he attended up until his health failed He was preceded in death by his parents Mattie Laura Foxx and Eugene Harrell, a son, Seymour; a brother, Larry D. Foxx; and three special cousins Reginald, Frank and George Foxx. The following people have shared the joys of life with Johnny: his wife Anne; three daughters, Tiye(Bobby), Nikkia, Ashley(Ra'shnne); two sons, Jonathan and Rashawn; fifteen grandchildren; Special granddaughter Sierra, Traevon, Jaeshone, Kalil, Essence, Karim, Tyveon, Kamal, Jaylen, Jaymonyie, Jyvere, Nariah, Jamarion, Ja'Niyah and Ja'Liyah; one great grandson, Tristan; two sisters, Patricia(Archie) Pack of Pinson, TN, and Kathy Maholmes of Henderson, TN; two brothers, Tommie(Debra) Harrell of Jackson, TN and Darryl(Earlene) Muse of Wildwood, FL; two aunts, Dorothy Surratt of Jackson, MI and Novella Mays of Parsons, TN; two special nephews, Michael Todd Pack of Pinson, TN and Charlie Williams of Winona, MS; four nieces, special niece Tameka(Bobby)Bond, Amy, Toye and Raven; special friends, Walter and Sharon Harrell and a host of cousins and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at the Higby Street Church of Christ (706 S. Higby St. Jackson) Saturday November 12, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with the family hour starting at 11:00 A.M. Cremation will follow services.
