Of Jackson, passed away July 28, 2013 age 45. Survived by two children, Michelle Ann (Jonathan McGraw) and Brian James (Brittany Dunlap) Whiting; one grandson, Mason Thomas Whiting; his father, Larry Whiting and his special friend, Joyce; his mother, Ann Blackman; one brother, John Thomas Blackman; one sister, Jamie Blackman; two aunts, Kathy Hilliker and Dianne Osypczuk; one uncle, Bill Marsh; nieces, nephews and cousins. John graduated from Northwest High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving 21 years and he loved the Red Wings. A celebration of his life will be held at the funeral home Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Burial Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors. Visitation Thursday 6-8 P.M.
