John David Roach

Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the age of 61. He is survived by his mother, Joann Lonsway of Maumee, Ohio; two daughters, Adria Lauren Roach of Hudson, Michigan and Abrielle Esther Roach of Pittsford, Michigan; son, John David (Rhonda) Roach, Jr. of Bloomfield, Missouri; grandson, Jared Dean Roach of Matthews, Missouri; sister, Pam Roach of Chaffee, Missouri; brother, Richard Roach of Maumee, Ohio; half-brother, Willie (Jennifer) Lonsway of Maumee, Ohio; step-brother, Daniel (Julya) Lonsway of Temperance, Michigan; special friends Diane Roach and Rodney Melton of Pittsford, Michigan; Jeff (Jackie) Porter of Toledo, Ohio. John was preceded in death by his father, Richard Roach; his beloved grandmother, Esther Cuttaia and auntie, Annette Stoianoff, Tyler Roach. John was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 29, 1954. He attended Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. He was proud of being a firefighter and serving his country as a United States Marine. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved his sweet boy poodle, Q-ball and pet pigs, Petunia and Rufus. John fought a long hard battle with grace and dignity. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. The family would like to acknowledge the kind and compassionate care that he and his family received from Great Lakes Hospice. A private burial will be held for John at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan with Military Honors. At John’s request, a celebration of his life will be held in the spring, so that we may celebrate his life in the outdoors that he loved so much. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or to the Veterans Affairs.
