Our hearts are broken, and we are saddened to announce the death of our Mother, Wife, Sister, Grandma, and Great Grandma and Aunt. Joan passed with the Lords graceful hand on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the age of 79. Joan was born on October 9th, 1940 to Delbert and Blanche (Naylor) Hutchings in Jackson Michigan and was a longtime resident of Henrietta Township. She leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, husband Gerald Barron, whom she met in 1954 and Married 60 years ago. Adored by her children, Kelley & Lisa Barron, Kimberly (Barron) Gibbs, Brother Jack (Peggy) Hutchings, and Nephew Ryan (Amanda) Hutchings, Brother and Sister In laws, Leonard Barron, Richard Barron, Richard (Bev) Worden, Nancy (Richard) Pickell, Ed (Ann Conley) Barron, Nellie (Tom) Hedgecough, grandchildren, Kellie (Mike) King, Megan Barron, Katelynn (Wes) Mory, and Bridger (Danni) Gibbs. Great Grandchildren, Hadyen, Lucas, Logan, Maverick, Alexa, Aubrey, and Penelope. As Well there are so many loving nieces and nephews and family friends, that she cherished very much. Joan is a graduate of Jackson High School in 1959. She retired from Jacobson’s Department Store, as the first person you seen when you walked in their front door, in the Purse Department, always with a beautiful smile and wonderful personality. Her career began at Margert Marys, and continued with Dancers, and Crown and Carriage. Joan was a Majorette, wonderful baton twirler, and loved to roller skate, play the accordion, and was an avid bowler. Joan enjoyed every aspect of the great out of doors, such as snowmobiling, camping, fishing and just spending as much time with family and friends as possible.
Joan will be laid to rest at private service next to her parents at Munith Cemetery in Munith, MI on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Flowers, Donations and condolences can be made through Charles Burden Funeral Home.
