Of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62, on May 31, 2012 in Spring Arbor, MI. Jimmie was born to parents Jimmie I and Mary Baker on March 17, 1950 in Albion, MI. He married Charlene S. Baker on March 18, 1996 in Jackson. Jimmie was employed by Guardian fiberglass as a Materials Handler/Coordinator. He was a former member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Albion. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He loved motorcycles, muscle cars. He was an avid photographer. He was a foster parent for 30 years fostering over 100 children and nine of which he adopted. He served our country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the color guard for the VA Association. He is survived by his father, Jimmie L. Baker I; wife, Charlene S. Baker; children, Jimmie Baker III, Missy, Isaiah, Chase, Charles, Antwon, DeAneglo, Anthony, Angela, Hunter, and Nakayla Baker; stepchildren Tina (David) Well, and Gordon (Neva) Wenman; grandchildren; Jimmie L. Baker IV, Devon, Anthony, Andrew, Dawn, Dustin, Gordon Jr., Michael, ten great grandchildren and siblings Durnad Baker, Eddie Baker, George (Sylvia) Baker and Michael (Patsy) Coleman. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Baker. A Going Home Service will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC), 711 Grace Street, Albion, MI at 10:00 AM with family hour at 9:00 AM until the time of service. Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Family will receive friends Monday, June 4, 2012 at the funeral home from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. Jimmie will be laid to rest in Spring Arbor Cemetery with Military Honors.
