Of Jackson, Michigan passed away at his residence on January 16, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Smith and sister, Sharon Sheridan. He will be remembered by two children; Darin (Lori) Smith, Susan Hunt; five grandchildren, Crystal Keena, Jessica (Bryan) Crucas, Brandon Smith, Allyson Smith, Kayla Salyers; and great grandson Braiden Keena. Jay graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1956. He married Anne on March 7, 1964 and together they raised a family. He retired from Orbit Form after many years of service. He was an avid reader, loved to fish, and spend time at the lake teaching his children to waterski. Jay was a loving family man and raised two of his grandchildren as his own. He was very proud when Braiden made him a great grandfather. According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen and there are no services scheduled at this time.
