Passed away on July 9, 2023. He was born on March 31, 1935 to Ford and Norma Brazee at his grandparent’s home in Litchfield, Michigan. He graduated from Leslie High School in 1953. He married Marilyn Bacon who was his high school sweetheart on July 3, 1954. They were together until she passed away in May 2009. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents, sister Bea Sharp, brother Gary Brazee, and nephew Carl Sharp. He is survived by his children: Richard (Ann) Brazee, Laurie (Rhys) Lewis, and Linda (Todd) DeBruler along with nieces and nephews Rob Sharp, Sally Vince, Connie Fullerton, Stacey Carper, and James Brazee. Jim served in the U.S. Army 1953 – 1955 in Airborne 11th Division. He loved being a truck driver for Forner Lakeside Dairy, Schafer Bakery, Continental, and Shell Oil Company, which he retired from in 1997. His favorite pastime was watching sports especially the Pistons, Tigers, & Lions, which also meant Thanksgiving dinner was served at halftime. Jim really enjoyed his Wednesday morning breakfast every week with Mick Case and Dick Mann who were his best friends in high school. He also truly appreciated the numerous visits and support from his sister-in-law Julie Juszkowski during his illness. We would like to thank the staff at Trellis Gardens for the care he received and his personal trainer, Jeff Beagle, who worked with him over the last several months. Per Jim’s wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cascades Humane Society or a charity of choice.
