Went home to be with her Lord on June 18, 2015 age 97. Preceded in death by husbands, Evert J. Vanden Bos I and William E. Forth. Survived by her son, Evert J. (Bonnie) Vanden Bos II of Ohio and their children David (Toni) Vanden Bos and Daryl (Amber) Vanden Bos: great grandchildren, Drew, Zach, Kate, Brooke, and Lynsie of Ohio. Also surviving is daughter, D’Vonne (Douglas) Yonnick and their children Amee’ Durst (Ursula Good), Brian (Jessica) Yonnick, Kirsten (Kevin) Trudell: great grandchildren, Kaylee Durst, Leilah Smith, Adia and Cruz Yonnick, Logan and Alanah Trudell. She was a longtime member of the South Jackson Community Church. She previously managed the Sveden House in Jackson and after retiring was active in the community as P.T.A. Past President and Regional Coordinator, serving on numerous boards. She was a volunteer at Allegiance since 1983, active member of A.A.R.P. since 1976, was a recipient of the Susan B. Anthony Award in 1995, received the 10 Who Care Award from the Governor in 1997, received a 50 years of service award for the American Red Cross in 1998 (and continued serving 10 more years), in 2000 she received the Jackson County Senior Citizen of the Year, and in 2008 she was the volunteer of the year for R.S.V.P. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 1:00pm with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Entombment will be at Roseland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, Michigan.
