Donna Joan Murray

Passed away Friday, June 5, 2020. She was born May 11, 1927 in Jackson, MI, the daughter of Herbert Hutchison. and Pearl Knapp. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years Robert G Murray, Jr. her sisters; Maxine Hutchison and Dorothy Rinehart, brothers: Cedric Hutchison and Dwight Hutchison, brother in laws; Dick Gant and Lawrence Rinehart, sister in law; Marjorie Gant, nephew; William Rinehart, and a son; Scott Allen Murray. Donna graduated, Cum Laude, from Jackson High School in 1945. She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, clerical worker for the Michigan Employment Security Commission, and retired from the State Prison of Southern Michigan in 1987 where she had worked as a telephone operator. She is survived by her son; Jack (Debbie) Murray, her daughter; Maureen Murray, daughter-in-law; June Howard Murray, grandchildren; James Murray (Julian Diaz), Jodi (David) Negus, Ryan (Tonya) Murray, Steven (Laura) Murray, and Angela (Jason Gray) Pearl, nephew; Rick (Mary) Gant, and nieces; Sherry (Ken Hibl) Gant and Jo Ann Rinehart, and eight great-grandchildren .

“A dimpled smile that melts the hardest heart.” The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of the Summit Park Assisted Living Center and Kelly Fowler of SouthernCare Hospice. Per her wishes cremation has been chosen, she will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
