Of Jackson, passed away at his home under the care of Henry Ford Hospice and surrounded by family members on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the age of 85. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Freese and his sister, Linda Zinniger. Don will be remembered by his daughter, Kimberly (Richard) Freese-Beal; grandchildren, Molly Isolte, Max Asher, Charlotte and Lucas; siblings, Dick Freese, Gary (Carolyn) Freese and Joan Norton as well as nieces, nephews loving family members and friends. Don was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on November 15, 1937 to Clayton and Margaret (Annis) Freese. After graduating from Hillsdale High School he served in the United States Army and was Honorably discharged. He then attended Judson College. He spent his career as a welder and fabricator and retired from O’Harrow Construction after many years of service. He has resided in Jackson for over 45 years and was an active volunteer in the community and enjoyed many years competing in the Jackson Horseshoe Club and singing in barbershop groups. He was a brilliant gardener and was hardworking always seemed to keep himself active helping others when he was able to. He had a strong Faith in the Lord and attended First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 1:00 until 4:00 P.M. Mr. Freese will be laid to rest beside his wife at West Woodbridge Cemetery in Camden, Michigan.
