David A. Whiting

Of Jackson, passed away in the comfort of his daughter’s home on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the age of 74. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Ann Whiting and five siblings. David is survived by three children, Suprenia (Lynn) Sherwood, Patty (Richard) Sherwood, and David Michael (Cherie) Whiting; six grandchildren, Jonathon, Katrina, Teresa (Richard), Tabitha (David) Aden, and Mykel; six great grandchildren; siblings, Bob, Ernie (Linda), Kenny (Kay), Bud, Hazel, Mary (George), and Betty; as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. David was born on August 28, 1943 to Gail and Nannie (Martin) Whiting in Beckley, West Virginia; he was one of twelve children. David spent his career as a bridge builder and eventually found his way to Michigan along with his brothers. He met Patricia shortly after he relocated; they soon married and then raised their family. Mr. Whiting was a hardworking family man. He enjoyed being a grandpa and great grandpa very much. He was always willing to help when he was able. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Eagles F.O.E. 612 (301 Detroit St. Jackson 49201) followed by a Lodge of Sorrow. According to his wishes cremation has been chosen and he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Jones Cemetery.
