Of Jackson, MI passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the age of 76. He is survived by his three children, Brian, Stacy and Daniel, and 3three step-children, Kim, Kevin and Barb, and nine grandchildren. Charlie is a veteran of the US Air Force during Vietnam. He retired from the State of Mich as a Corrections Officer. Charlie was a well-known guy. Sometimes misunderstood by his family members, but never misunderstood by his friends and acquaintances. He was a minimalist at heart, keeping a simple lifestyle that made sense. Developed in the early years, hard work-then play defined his order. Outgoing and a lover of animals and nature, he put everything he had into his family and small-time farm. As a kid growing up, we were blessed to learn animal husbandry, cultivating and growing crops, gleening and gathering, and mending barns and fences to develop our character. Thank you dad for the weekend rustic horse-ground camping trips. Those memories will always be etched on my mind.
Dad was an ultimate seeker of the deep unanswered questions of life and truth. He was active in his church, volunteering with the Salvation Army year-over-year, and was recently a part of a quality group called "Band of Brothers". Charlie will be missed by those who experienced his kindness, selflessness, and helpfulness. He always wanted to be part of giving to the greater good, and he used his neighbors and strangers to do that. Charlie you are greatly missed but never forgotten. Thank you for the fond memories. Peace be with you.
