Charles Aaron 'Lucky Chucky' Fulgham, 77, of Jackson was reunited with the love of his life on April 9, 2024, under the loving care of hospice and his two devoted daughters, Lisa and Niki. Those who knew him know how much he loved to pull pranks and tell stories, so here is his:
Chuck was born July 9th, 1947, in Jackson to Merian (Miller) Fulgham, and Charles Henry Fulgham. He was the younger brother to his only sibling, his sister, Kay Elizabeth Vowels, who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Jackson High School class of 1965, and Jackson Community College class of 1970. Graduating with a degree in Tool and Die making. He met the love of his life cruising Michigan Avenue in 1965. After a short courtship and a very memorable event preceding the engagement, he married his beautiful wife of 55 years, Lana Suzette 'Susi' (Schuler) on January 22, 1966. Out of this union, three years later, came three children. Chuck was a dedicated father to his son, Charles 'Chaz' Fulgham of Cape Coral, Florida; his daughter, Lisa (Mark) Stanton of Sarasota, Florida; his youngest daughter, Nichole 'Niki' Lynn Fulgham (Josh) of Jackson. He loved his role as 'Papa' to his grandchildren, Blake, Chloe, and Brock Stanton, and his great grandchildren, Sawyer and Cohen J. Stanton Close. He also leaves behind his very faithful companion and fur baby, Teddy Boy. He was an avid planner of childhood vacations for his children that always started with great intentions, and VERY detailed itineraries to follow, but usually ended up more like Chevy Chase style 'Vacations' that left a lifetime of memories to laugh about to this very day. He was always great with reciting the 'rules' to proceed all activities, but NEVER following them himself! Together Chuck and Susi owned and operated Fulgham Machine and Tool Company in Jackson, from 1975 to the present day. Along with being a business owner, Chuck was a mastermind and an avid inventor, with two of his inventions holding patents and one being quite successful. Brokenbolt.com has saved the lives of a multitude of our military personnel, along with a device called Handsfree Trach Speaking Valve that was inspired to help a good friend that was battling throat cancer. Not to disregard the hundreds of other Coors Lights inspired designs and ideas that "Lucky" would sketchup on paper and placemats across multiple establishments in Jackson on any given night. He was ALWAYS thinking!
Chuck had a passion for cars and motorcycles and was a proud owner of 3 BSA Motorcycles, a 1963 split window Corvette Stingray, and a 1947 and 1955 Chevrolet that won multiple awards at local car shows. He enjoyed Sprint car races and followed them for many years, as well. He enjoyed most evenings at the Grotto Club in Jackson. His patronage never went unnoticed there, as he became a friend to many. We wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to Gary Slusser, Charlie Hardwick, and Dena Augustine for the visits, food and time spent with dad these last few months. It meant the world to him. Also, a very special thank you to the most loyal, honorable, and lifelong best friends Riley and Barb Looper. We truly can't thank you enough for all you do! To the Henry Ford Hospice Team who helped dad at home. Miss Janet, Miss Renee, and Miss Stephanie...we THANK YOU! To the Hospice Home who made dad comfortable, and his transition peaceful, we will be forever grateful to you. He is now dancing to the oldies with our mother once again! In lieu of flowers, donations made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Per his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
