Of Jackson, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Gayle Whiting; step-sons, Paul (JoAnna) Cook of Farmington, NM and Chris (Nicole) Cook of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Monique, Brennan, Channing, Jenna, Amanda, Kayla, Danielle and Matthew; sisters, Janet Bouldrey, Judy (Jim) Frye and Patty (Clay) Swenburnson; brothers, Jim (Patty) Keegan, Gary (Irene) Keegan, Barry Whiting and Brian Whiting; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Bruce graduated from Jackson High and then proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Dowley Manufacturing, Inc. and was currently employed with the U.S. Postal Service for the last 25 years. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 29 and a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He was also an avid U of M fan. A celebration of his life is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ed Ross officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make contributions to the American Legion Ritual Team in his honor.
