Was gathered into the arms of the Lord on December 19, 2010. He was born in Hamlin, WV on March 28, 1952. He is survived by his wife Tonya (Preston) White, sons; James (Michelle) and Randy White of Jackson, Jeffrey (Cristen) White of Ypsilanti; grandchildren Jeff (J.T.) and Logan Dewayne White, Eric and Kerin Burgett; siblings William (Vivian) White of Munith, Alicia (Robert Gillespie) White of Winifriede, WV, and Kimi White of Yawkey, WV; 7 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Wayne (Shorty) and Rebel (Pooch) Tiffner White, brother James and sister Marsha. Dewayne came to Michigan in 1972 and married on September 20, 1975. He loved racing his 1970 Roadrunner at Milan Dragway before moving onto Sand drags with his CJ7 Jeep. In 1991 he bought his first Harley and spent many miles enjoying the freedom of the road. He was a jack of all trades; a welder at GM, sales associate at Mid America Speed Shop and at American & Tecumseh Harley Davidson. He always went above and beyond to take care of his customers, many becoming good friends. Modest and multi-talented, he was always ready to lend a hand. He was a founding member of the Golden Triangle 4-Wheel Drive Club of Ypsilanti, a member of Ann Arbor American Harley Owners Group (A3Hog), Michigan Artist Blacksmith Association (MABA) and a member of Faith Baptist Church of Chelsea. We will miss the twinkle in his eye and his infamous “tweety-bird” calls. Homegoing service will be Thursday, December 23rd at 2 PM at Faith Baptist Church, 4030 Kalmbach Rd, Chelsea. Family will receive friends from 12 until time of service with Pastor Adam Summers officiating. Per his wishes, cremation will follow service. His motorcycle family will be honoring him by taking his ashes on a last run in the spring.
