As a teenager, Thomas was an EMT volunteer in Old Bridge, New Jersey. He was recruited by Providence Hospital (now MUSC) in 2006 as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist. He was also on staff at Prisma Health during the COVID pandemic. In recent years, he and his wife were volunteers for the Bands of IRMO. Thomas was also a member of the Palmetto State Perfusion society.
He was a wonderful husband and father. His proudest accomplishment was his son, Brian. Thomas was amazed at his musical talent, kindness for others, and devotion to his family. Thomas’s friends and family will tell you that he was always first to volunteer to help anyone in need. Those that knew him well would say he may have seemed gruff on the outside but pure love on the inside. He could always make you laugh.
In addition to his grandparents Thomas and Dorothy O’Dwyer, he is predeceased by his father, Francis Michael Doyle; brother, Christopher Francis Doyle; sister-in-law Vera Tolkacevic. Those left to cherish are his wife of 25 years, Candace Lynn Doyle; son, Brian Thomas Doyle; mother, Christine Anne Doyle. Other family members include, Charlene and Dave Mabire; Linda, Jorge, Matthew, Brianna, Katelyn Barbosa; Steve, Stephen, and Ella Tolkacevic; Liam Brian Doyle, Sarah Trish Doyle; Lori Gail Doyle; Robert and Toni Bermingham; Benjamin Bermingham; Arielle, Marlon, and Silas Garrido.
