Roy Allan Tucker

A memorial service for Roy Allan Tucker, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Tucker died Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Born in Union, SC, he was a son of the late James Walker Tucker and Evelyn Boulware Tucker. A graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1956, he received his Associate’s degree from Hillsboro Community College in Tampa, Florida. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired as a Master Sergeant. Roy worked as a manager for Hess until he retired. A worldwide traveler, he was very adventurous and enjoyed taking his family on special trips. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and taking long walks.

Surviving are his daughter, Kay Followell (Rick); son, Mitch Tucker (Valerie); grandchildren, Joshua Taylor (Sandy), Honna Keller-Kuhn (Ben), Hannah Tucker-Hardesty (Helen), and Leah Tucker; great-granchildren, Josiah, Nathaniel, Lyla, and Jace; brother, Eugene Tucker (Hanna); and brother-in-law, Fred Lundsford.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Bettie Tucker, and his sister, Ruby Lundsford.
