The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Ron is survived by his mother, Ann Welborn Fisher, wife of 46 years, Melissa Murdock Fisher; his brother-in-law, Steven Murdock; and his aunt, Edith Welborn Self. He was predeceased by his dad, Lamar Fisher. Ron was born in Anderson, graduated from T. L. Hanna High, and received a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 1976. He worked for DHEC before serving as an industrial hygienist for the SC Labor Department where he retired as a training coordinator following many years of service. He was a lover of the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shooting, but most importantly he was a devoted husband, son, nephew, brother-in-law, and friend. Ron proudly served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970 as a Hospital Medical Corpsman and was a Viet Nam Veteran. The family, with grateful hearts, thanks South Carolina Oncology Associates, Palmetto Health Hospice, Agape Hospice House (Lexington), and Dr. Gabe Saleeby and staff for the tender and gracious care we received during this journey. Our family, Northwood Baptist Church’s family, Pastor Dave Copeland, friends, neighbors, and countless prayer warriors have been the “hands and feet of Christ to us”. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwood Baptist Church, 5236 Sunset Blvd. Lexington, SC 29072 or Mt. Bethel Baptist Church 2603 Due West Highway, Belton, SC 29627. Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by His power at work within us – Eph. 3:20. Please sign the online guestbook at www.dunbarfunerals.com
