Robert "Bob" Calderwood

Irmo, SC - Robert "Bob" Calderwood (85) passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife Flo, two daughters Joanne Mitchell (Lee), and Patricia Webber (Kenny), and son William Calderwood (Deb), 7 grandchildren Ginnifer, Monica, Kristin (Jonathan), Chris (Nicole), Clayton (Savannah), Dylan and Tyler, 9 great grandchildren Dillon, Preston, Brayden, Katie, Rayne, Jayce, Chase, Paitynn and Ryan.

Bob was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on May 6, 1937 to the late Kenneth and Evelyn Calderwood. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Ralph Calderwood. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars while serving in the United States Navy. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller for 30 years retiring in Columbia, SC and becoming a missionary in Guyana, South America and then Malawi, Africa for 30 years. He was a faithful member of Palmetto Church of Christ.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Malawi fund at Palmetto Church of Christ.
