Rick Miller died Thursday, May 19th at his home with his wife and 2 daughters by his side. He was born in Columbia, SC on January 17, 1947, he was a graduate from Eau Claire High School. He served in the Army National Guard as a chief which he took much pride in. He was the Co-founder of Miller Brothers Giant Tire Service, Inc. He was known as a loving, funny, and a generous husband, father, and friend.
When Rick was not hard at work in the office (on the road), he could be found hard at work in one of his tool sheds in the middle of one of his many projects or on his boat with friends cruising down the inter-coastal waterway or speeding across Lake Murray. And when he was not on the water, his Harley took him and Sherry on many adventures up and down the east coast. Later in life, Rick thoroughly enjoyed living as much possible on Sugar Mountain; skiing, riding his golf cart around the mountain, cruising in his 67 Cadillac on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and white water rafting whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Surviving are: his loving wife of 55 years and high school sweetheart, Sherry Miller; Daughters, Elizabeth Miller and Marcy Miller (William Lucas); Granddaughter, Eva Miller; Brother, Y.M. Miller (Carolyn); Nephew, Sean Miller (Diana); Brother-in-Law, Dave Schneider and Sister-in-Law, Anne Schneider.
Memorials may be made in Rick's name to PAALS, 221 N. Grampian Hill Road, Columbia SC 29223 in lieu of flowers.
