COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Richard "Rich" William Darlington, 65, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2020, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Mr. Darlington passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020. Born in Columbia on May 3, 1955, he was a son of Anna Sue Wallace Darlington of Lexington and the late Norman William Darlington.
Rich was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware and of the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He served in the U.S. Navy and USC ROTC. He later worked as an IT Manager with Conduent. A wonderful, loving and caring son, husband and father, Rich enjoyed golfing and reading.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Kathy Lorraine Gray Darlington; daughter, Toni Darlington (Adam Youngblood) of West Columbia; sons, Chris Darlington of West Columbia and Ian Darlington of Columbia; sisters, Dusty Blue of CA and Patti Bradley of AR; and brothers, Michael Darlington of GA, Jim Darlington (Char) of MN and Ben Darlington of GA.
