Patricia “Patsy” Ann Mack, 86, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She was born on February 13, 1937 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School and the University of Florida. She was a teacher at Church Hill Elementary School in McLean, Virginia.
She met her husband, Joseph “Josey” Mack, on July 3, 1958 and knew instantly that she had met the man she would marry. They wrote love letters, every day, during their two year long-distance relationship. They were married August 14, 1960. They have celebrated 62 years of marriage together. Patsy was Papa’s devoted wife, constant companion, confidant, and best friend and his love for her “grew more and more every day”.
Patsy is survived by four children— Skeet Mack (Renee), Lannie Finley (Art), Marina Amodio (Steve), and Ellis Mack (Kirsten); eight grandchildren– Bo Mack, Tanner Mack (Dianne), AJ Finley (Pamela), McKenzie Mack, Elie Finley, Cayla Nelson (Taylor), Sydney Amodio, and Lyndsey Amodio; as well as her brothers Joseph Ademy (Sally), Marty Ademy (BeBe), and brother in law George Mack (Brenda).
Patsy enjoyed traveling with Papa all over the world and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She will be remembered for her love, her humor, and her beautiful smile. She was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed. Patsy was loved beyond words and was such a blessing and light to all of the people in her life.
The visitation will be held Thursday, March 2nd at Dunbar Funeral Home at 7600 Woodrow Street in Irmo, SC 29063. The rosary will be at 5:30 pm and visitation will be 6:00-7:30 pm. A requiem mass will be held on Friday March 3rd at 10:30 am at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd at 1512 Blanding St, Columbia SC 29201. The burial will immediately follow the service at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington SC 29072.
Pallbearers: Bo Mack, Tanner Mack, AJ Finley, Elie Finley, Weston Rice, Taylor Nelson, Steve Amodio, and Art Finley.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Our beloved Patsy will always be with us.
