Nelson T Posey Jr.

IRMO - Nelson Theodore Posey Jr., 78, died Saturday, January 2, 2016. Born in Augusta, Ga., he was a son of the late Nelson Theodore Posey, Sr. and Mattie Stroble Posey. Mr. Posey was a 1955 graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School in Graniteville. After marrying and moving to Cayce, he started his career in the Motor Freight business. In later years, he started his own landscaping business where he was known as “Koolpop”. Mr. Posey was a member of the Baptist faith and the Main Street Harmonizers. Surviving are his daughter, Pam Posey (Kay Soyars) of Irmo; son, Kevin Posey (Jill) of North Charleston; grandchild, Hayden Posey; and special Yorkie, Honey Bunny. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Mary Frances Smith Posey in January of 2014. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Brian Center for all their love and support. A private service will be held at a later date.
