Mrs. Nancy May Jacobs, 90, entered our Lord's presence on March 20, 2025, after a short illness. Born on April1,1934, in Rock Hill, SC, Nancy was the daughter of the late John Calvin May and Helen Louise Hunt May.
In 1957 Nancy married Ronald Lynn Jacobs. They celebrated 63 anniversaries before his death in November 2020. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and Winthrop College. She began her career as a dietitian at Columbia Hospital. She retired as Director of Dietetics and Food Services from Richland Memorial Hospital after 32 years of service. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from Winthrop College. Westminster Presbyterian was her church home for many years. She served as a deacon and an elder along with other leadership roles in the women's ministry. Nancy was very active in the Presbyterian Home community, serving with many of her dear friends where they baked casseroles, playing the ukulele, and preparing all year long for the Samaritan’s Purse boxes. It was said that she left her stamp on the world.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Cynthia Jacobs Darby (Rusty)of Chester, son Ronald Lynn Jacobs, Junior (Lisa) of Awendaw, son Walter Stephen Jacobs (Tracie) of Jacksonville and Frances Jacobs Clark (David) of Leesville. She is also survived by her sisters, Corinna May Harvey (Dan) of Greer, Johnsie May Gregory (Rick) of Greer and Debbie May Martin (Tony) of Anderson. Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Ann May Phillips and Danny Phillips. She has 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at Presbyterian Community, 700 Davega Dr, Lexington SC on Saturday March 22 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. A Visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00 a.m
Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
