Mary Evelyn Williams Dutton

Mary Evelyn Williams Dutton, 86, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, June 6, 2022. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Elmwood Cemetery Chapel. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.

Born in Kershaw, SC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Edward Williams and Ruth Horton Williams.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She graduated from Baron Dekalb High School as class salutatorian and was Miss Baron Dekalb her senior year. After her graduation she followed her sister to Columbia to start her career at Southern Bell. During that time she met her beloved husband, Banks, and they were married for 58 wonderful years. Upon the birth of her daughters, she assumed her most cherished role as a loving homemaker. She also engaged in various charity work and was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Terri (Mike) Dutton Bamonte of Columbia and Melissa Anne Dutton of Isle of Palms; grandchildren Richard (Janey) Bamonte of Austin, TX and Kelly Townsend of Lexington; sisters and brother, Sara Stevens of Lancaster, Jimmy (Linda) Williams of Lancaster, Joyce Coleman of Casper, WY, Sybil Tapia of Coon Rapids, MN, and Ann Williams of Anoka, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Banks A. Dutton, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Kemper Williams, Edna Owens, Gary Williams and Carol Webb.
