Mrs. Ferguson was born in Savannah, Georgia on June 6, 1932. She was the daughter of Mikell P. and Lillie Mae Foxworth. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church where she participated in the Zelma Richardson Sunday School Class, WELCA, Young at Heart, and served as Reader and Communion Assistant. She graduated from Eau Claire High School. Mrs. Ferguson retired from Wachovia after 27 years of service. Later she worked at First Citizens Bank. In her retirement she volunteered at Lexington Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Trump officiating and Karen Day assisting. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be at 2:00 pm one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
Surviving Mrs. Ferguson are her daughters, Cheryl Ferguson Hutchison and Susan F. Walters (Rod). She was known as Nanny to her grandchildren: Allison Abercrombie (Shawn); Bradley Cogdill (Molly); Jordan Mullen (Lawrence); David Walters (Rebecca); Ryan Walters; and to her eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Mary Francis DeHihns.
