Marie Motte Savage

Columbia, SC - Marie Motte Savage prev. m. Lawrence Savage, Jr; Loving mother of four sons: Lawrence (Jackie), Phil (Pam), Tom (d1986) and Kerry; seven grandchildren: Sarah Callison, Rock, Alec, Savannah, Ali, Ella Margaret and Sam, and two great-grandchildren Tee Callison and Wells Callison.

A fine athlete, Marie was a cheerleader, played tennis, played on the basketball team, and pitched for the softball team in school. She continued playing tennis and softball for many years. She was also an avid pickleball player from age 81 to 91.

Marie was a private pilot. She was a lifelong shell collector and a member of Palmetto Shell Club since 1987. Marie was a prolific poet, writing poems under the pen name "Poemarie." She loved traveling, puzzles, Jeopardy, "lobstah" and Edisto Beach, SC.

On Thursday, March 23rd, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., there will be a table set up in casual remembrance of Marie at Seven Oaks Park 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Marie's friends (pickleball, senior center friends and others) are invited to drop by as we casually celebrate Marie. It was Marie's wish to be cremated.
