Kenneth Aaron Hooper

A Graveside service for Kenneth A. Hooper, 75, will be private in Haywood County, NC. Mr. Hooper passed away Friday, May 29, 2015. Born in Haywood County, NC, he was a son of the late Cicero and Gladys Stillwell Hooper. Ken proudly served his country in the US Army before being transitioned into the US Army National Guard where he was honorably discharged as a Captain. In the 1960’s he was a founder of the Waynesville Youth Club and served as President of the Young Democrats. He served as a past Vice-President of the Jay-Cee’s. Ken and a local doctor founded the Haywood County Heart Fund. He was a businessman before going back to college to earn his nursing degree. He retired as a nurse following many years of service. Surviving are his daughters, Daphne Hooper (Jack) of Greensboro, NC, Rebecca H. King (John) of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Jackson and Will King. He is also survived by sister, Glenda Duckett of Waynesville, NC; brothers, Tony Hooper (Wanda) of Waynesville, NC, and Cress Hooper of El Segundo, CA.
