He was born on August 15, 1971 in Columbia, SC. He was the son of Dooley and Janelle Whorton Womack of Irmo. He graduated from Irmo High School in 1989. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he obtained a degree in Business Administration in May of 1998. Surviving are his wife, Laura Cross Womack, two daughters, Grace Caroline and Claire Elizabeth; his parents Dooley and Janelle Womack; his brother Steven Dooley Womack (Julie) and many additional loved family members. He was predeceased by his brother, Guy Womack; his grandparents, Blaine and Agnus Whorton; Horace and Juanita Womack.
Anyone that Jeff met instantly became his friend. He never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends immensely. He was a dedicated South Carolina Gamecock fan, always representing USC with pride. He was an avid golfer and member at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC where he made countless friendships and memories that will be cherished by so many. After graduating from USC, Jeff was hired in 1999 at Colwood Wood Preserving in Columbia, SC. In 2001 Jeff started with Fortress Wood Products in Greensboro, NC as an outside salesman. In 2018 Jeff took a position with Culpeper Wood Preservers. Throughout his career Jeff was a valued salesman. The relationships he built with fellow employees, vendors and customers was unmeasurable. For Jeff, the relationships always evolved into friendships. Jeff loved that he was being paid to play golf, entertain, and travel because of his work. The strong bonds he created and the ever-present smile will truly be missed by all who knew him.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Union United Methodist Church, 7582 Woodrow St, Irmo, SC 29063. The family will receive friends Friday, July 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Dunbar Funeral Home, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC. The burial will follow after the service on Saturday in the church cemetery. The family will also receive friends after the burial.
