Henry Clyde "Hank" McMillan

COLUMBIA – A Celebration of Life service for Henry Clyde “Hank” McMillan, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with a reception to follow. Mr. McMillan died Monday, February 28, 2022. Born on February 16, 1951 in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Vallentine McMillan and Minna Clyde O’Neal McMillan. Hank was a graduate of Bamberg Ehrhardt High School, where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He went on to play basketball for Frank McGuire at the University of South Carolina.

Hank was the Senior Vice President of Wyatt Seal Inc, his family’s business. During his 45 year tenure in sales and management, he helped grow the business 100 times the size it was when he began his career.

Hank played American Legion baseball for a team in Orangeburg. In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball team with friends Glenn King and David Bridwell. He loved Hopetown, Abaco in the Bahamas with his best friends Pam and Mike Dunlap, along with Susan. He loved everyone he ever met and never met a stranger.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Susan Wyatt McMillan; son, Henry Scott McMillan, and his wife, Aimee Ellis McMillan; daughter, Melissa Lynn McMillan; grandchildren, Henry Tyler McMillan, Louis Riley McMillan, and Peyton Marie McMillan.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Martha Anne McMillan Purcell.

The family would like to thank two special angels, Briana Spence-Gaillard and Angela Harris. Hank chose them to help here at home. May God bless them. Our heartfelt thanks to the Prisma Health Hospice groups for guiding us through Hanks’s last two weeks. Their compassion eased our every concern and worry.
