Helen Sands

Helen S. Sands, 95, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in White Rock, SC. She was born in Knox County, Tennessee, and was the wife of the late Jim Sands and daughter of the late S. Lester and Martha H. Spangler. She was a graduate of Young High School in Knoxville, TN and was an amazing homemaker. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia, SC and a resident of the Heritage at Lowman in White Rock SC, since 2008.

Surviving are her children, Linda Warren of White Rock, SC, Steve (Linda) Sands of Pittsboro, N.C. and Stan (Teresa) Sands of West Columbia, SC. She leaves behind four grandchildren; Jonathan (Carla) Sands, Christine (Don) Davis; Amy (Nick) Harrison and Julie Sands. Her surviving great grandchildren include, Jackson, Perry and William Sands; Kaley, Rebekah and Eli Davis; and Charlotte Harrison.

Helen leaves behind four siblings; S.L. Spangler, Charlsie Wenzinger, Chris Krosnes, and Phyllis Ogle. She was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth White, and a brother, Marvin Spangler.

A memorial and celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 18 at 2 p.m. at the New Life Chapel at the Heritage at Lowman at 2101 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC 29036. We invite anyone who knew Helen to attend and remember her wonderful life. The family will greet friends following the service.
