A funeral service and visitation for Geraldine Scott Moore 93, will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM followed by a service at 3:00 PM.
Mrs. Moore died Friday, August 11, 2023. Born in Florence, SC she was the daughter of Janie Jones Scott and LeGrand Thurmond Scott. She graduated from Winthrop College with a degree in Physical Education. She was a Physical Education teacher at Dreher High School in Columbia ,SC. She later became the president of the Congaree Girl Scout Council. She was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church and Forest Lake Country Club. She enjoyed golf, gardening, all sports, and reading. One of her greatest joys came from being “Grandma” and “Great Gramme” to her two grandsons and two great grandsons. She will be remembered as a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister.
Surviving are her daughters, Debra Jane Carlin (Raymond Joseph) of Carefree Arizona, Elizabeth Moore Fisher ( David Clyde) of Little Mountain, South Carolina, grandchildren, David Clyde Fisher Jr. (Megan Lillie) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Ralph Scott Fisher ( Cayla Marie ) of Gotha, Florida, great grandchildren, Beckett Hill Fisher and Paxton Holland Fisher of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Hill Moore Jr, and her brother, Thurmond Scott Jr.
The family would like to thank Barbara Martin, her Solutions Partner, and Beth McCrary, her Client Care Manager with Still Hopes Solutions For Living at Home for all they did to care for her and the family over the past 3 years. In addition, they would like to thank Dr. Jalprakash Patel and his nurse Sharon for the excellent care they provided over the years.
