Frances Mervak Winters

Frances Mervak Winters October 3, 1924-April 2, 2017 IRMO – Frances joins her beloved granddaughter Leslie Frances Nelson, her sister Jennie, and parents Stanley and Anna Bonarowski in the loving presence of our Lord. Frances enjoyed fully all that this beautiful world had to offer. She considered the library heaven on earth, and reading was her passion. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Seattle University at the age of 70, and was to date their oldest graduating student. She believed in doing good works, and mentored elementary students in reading at T.T. Minor school as well as tutoring Vietnamese students in English. She hosted exchange students, and was a lector and volunteer at St. Lukes Parish and School in Seattle. She loved travel, cooking, and entertaining her many friends. She so enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Frances is survived by her three children, Thomas Mervak (Pat), Brian Mervak and Marcy Nelson (Steve). She departs her grandchildren, Matthew, Dan, Robert, David, Elizabeth and Ellen (Mervak), Noah (Mervak) and Laurie (Nelson). She was greatly loved. She will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, April 7, 2017 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am at the church. Guests are invited to the home of Brian Mervak following the celebration for lunch and fellowship.
