COLUMBIA - Dorothy Ivy (Bennett) Rogers, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Born on October 12, 1924 in London, England, Dorothy served in the Women’s Royal Navy during World War II. She became a United States citizen in the 1960s. She enjoyed a lifetime of friends and rich experiences through worldwide travel. She also volunteered for over 30 years at Richland Memorial Hospital in the gift shop. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward S. Rogers of Columbia; daughter, Barbara Ann Rogers of Columbia; son, John E. Rogers (Selena) of Edisto Beach; granddaughter, Catherine B. Wallace (William) of Irmo; and great-granddaughter, Bennett E. Wallace of Irmo. Memorials may be made to the Palmetto Health Foundation, P.O.
