Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro, NC.
Delores was born June 17, 1933 in Bath, North Carolina to Stephen and Mary Gaskins. Growing up in Bath, she enjoyed outings with her family on the river. In 1952, she married the love of her life, George C. Wood. For the next 35 years she was a dedicated military wife who enjoyed traveling and the adventures that came with each new duty station, especially Puerto Rico.
Delores was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her four siblings. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, George C. Wood; three daughters, Anita Long (Donald), Debbie Goldston (Dan), Nancy Shirk (Vince), seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
