David H. Greenwell

Celebration of Life services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 1, 2023 at St. Andrews Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the church.

David was born April 15, 1942 in Ft. Knox, KY to Joseph and Mary Catherine Greenwell. He was retired from Owens Steel and was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. David was an avid bowler, a staple at Anchor Lanes, where he bowled in several different leagues and was the recipient of three “300” rings and 2 “800 Series” rings. He was a master Table Tennis player and enjoyed showing his skills off at Seven Oaks Recreational Park. Most importantly he will be remembered for his easy going spirit and being a dedicated father and loving husband.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Annie Newton Hilliard. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 59 years, Lois Greenwell; two sons, B. David Greenwell, Marcus Greenwell; three grandchildren, Josh Greenwell, Deyton Greenwell, Marki Greenwell; and two brothers, Louis Newton and Darrell Newton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
