Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, David was a proud US Army Veteran who served overseas in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. His calling to serve his community extended to his civilian career. A graduate of USC Upstate and Converse College, David was a public school educator and administrator, and at the time of his passing was working for Indtai Incorporated's Future Soldier program at Fort Jackson.
David was well known for his love of sports, history, music, reading, movies, super heroes, and plants. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and Florida State Football fan who enjoyed a healthy sports debate with his friends. He could easily recall a song, the title, and the year an album dropped with minimal effort. David often read more than one book at a time and was known to see a new Marvel movie on opening night. He enjoyed working in his yard and could often be found with headphones on, listening to old school hip hop while tending to the many plants he propagated.
What mattered most to David was his village. He loved his family, friends, and the community where he lived. His steadfast devotion was evident in how he cared deeply for his wife and children, his willingness to lend an ear, and volunteer his time. Whether it was a doctor’s appointment, school function, athletic activity for his kids, or a day at the neighborhood pool David could be counted on. He was an encourager, advice giver, and helper.
David is survived by his wife, Courtney Boyd; their three children, Olivia, Elle, and Barrett “Bear”; his oldest daughter, Jade, and grandson, Mason; parents, David T. Fuller (Patricia) and Willalette Sweeney; sisters, Travis “Toni” Poole (Eric), Ilka Tait; brothers, Bernard Fuller, Reginald Fuller, Erickson Bynum; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Ernest Fuller Sr. and Mary Fuller; maternal grandparents Bobby L. Bell and Annie Ruth Bell.
Services will be planned at a later date.
