A Celebration of the Life of Corey Edward Hunt, 18, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home.
Corey passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Born in Columbia, he was the middle child of Jessica L. Hunt and the grandson of John Edward Hunt, Jr. and Jerri Hunt. Corey was full of humor and charisma and could light a room with his gorgeous smile. He was currently a junior at the Academy for Success and had previously attended Chapin High School where he was an awesome wrestler on the Chapin Wrestling team and also played football for Chapin. His passion was song writing and singing. He loved his music and making beats. Corey has music and videos on Youtube and Sound Cloud as “Itz Bentley”. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, swimming and wake boarding on Lake Murrray at his home.
Surviving in addition to his mother and grandparents are his sister, Shayla Hunt; his little brother, Jaylen Hunt; his great-grandmother, Carolyn Hunt; and the love of his life, Zayda Baylies.
Corey will be dearly missed by not only family, but so many others as well. May we one day see you again.
