COLUMBIA - Carrie Alicia Melton ascended to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 29th. She entered our lives on September 18, 1997. Carrie made a positive impression everywhere she went...she never met a stranger! One of Carrie’s many attributes was being first at everything. She was first to be crowned Miss Spring Hill High School, a member of the first graduating class of Spring Hill High School Class of 2016 (Chapin, SC), one of the first colonizing members of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and the sorority’s first Vice President of Communications. Carrie loved serving her sorority and was chosen as one of three delegates to represent her sorority at the National Conference in Chicago this summer. Carrie was a sophomore at the University of South Carolina majoring in Secondary English with the desire to teach high school English. Carrie loved the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and followed her family’s tradition of attending USC. Carrie gave unlimited energy to numerous activities. Carrie could be found on stage performing in the Drama Showcase for School District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties, she was a member of the cheerleading team and lacrosse team for Dutch Fork High School and enjoyed ministering to children with special needs at KidSpring, NewSpring Church. God blessed Carrie with unlimited talents and gifts she shared daily with everyone she met. She was dressed with a contagious smile, boundless energy, and filled every room with ray of sunshine. Carrie loved her family and prioritized time to make countless memories with them. Family time ranged from tailgating on Saturdays to cheering on our Gamecocks, annual trip to Tweetsie Railroad with grandparents, family beach trips, and traveling all around the country. She never missed a chance to be with her family. Carrie is loved by many.
