Carla Strawbridge Thompson

A celebration of the life of Carla Strawbridge Thompson will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Woodlands Country Club, 100 Norse Way, Columbia, SC 29229. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Chapel, Irmo is assisting the family.

Carla passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Rose Burrows Strawbridge and the late Carl Wayne Strawbridge. She was a graduate of Columbia High School. Carla was the owner and operator of Rose’s Flower and Gift Shop. She loved the outdoors, boating, gardening and cooking but most importantly she loved her family and her two dachshunds, Zoie and Pinch.

Surviving in addition to her mother, Rose, is her husband of 18 years, John T. Thompson, Sr.; children, Michael Cothran J. Taylor Thompson, Jr.; grandson, Aidan; brother, Wayne Strawbridge (Tammy); numerous nieces; and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge and Palmetto Health Richland for their kind and compassionate care shown to Carla during this time.
