I have been looking for Betty Carroll for many years. She was a very dear friend of my mother’s, Katherine Fentress. I  have so many many memories of her, I cannot count. I have many pictures and a few of her children’s books. We exchanged many letters over the years, especially after my mom went into a nursing home. We shared our love of art and life’s lessons, God and so many other things. I loved her so!!! ♥️ Julia Fentress Davidson

Dear North Family,
  I knew B.C. when she lived in Cookeville Tennessee. I am a retired pathologist and was involved with a civic project to raise money for a bicycle trail along a railroad track. We had several fundraisers and B.C. painted and donated several paintings for us to auction. I have two in my house because I ended up liking them so much that I also bid for them. The money went to the project.  B.C. moved away from Cookeville before we finally built our first section of the TN Central Trail, a  4.3 mile trail which has become very  popular for bikers, joggers, and walkers including families out strolling. I wish she could have seen the fruits of our labor.
      B.C. was a delight to get to know over the several years I knew her. I tried to find her a year or so ago to thank her again, but I could not find a contact person.  I have a beautiful painting ( a young woman playing a mandolin) which she donated for a fundraiser which we unfortunately never had.  I would really like for someone in the family to have it. Maybe a grand child would like it. Please get in touch with me and I will send it

While BC was in the Chapin Book Club she was always a delight with her straight forward opinions some of which brought smiles to our readers faces if not outright laughter. She was an absolute treasure to all. I was privileged to visit her in her cottage and we had some wonderful talks. She gave me her children's book called strings for my granddaughter. She was talented, well spoken and so much fun to be around. She was devoted to her family and seemed to enjoy most everyone. She has been sorely missed since she left our group. I drove by a field of sunflowers after a luncheon at Lt MT Café and she was enthralled by it's beauty. A great lady to all who knew her. Deepest sympathy and prayers to all,

I was in the Chapin book club & BC constantly made us laugh & was an inspiration to all in attendance. She was was what you call in the South a “character “, one of a kind. I am glad we had the privilege to know her.

I am sorry for your loss.What a sweet lady.My mother  and I enjoyed visiting with her and admiring her art work. She always had a sweet smile and kind voice. You all were so kind to take the time to walk across the hall and visit Mom. Take care and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
