You were the best Papa I could ever had we miss you so much, nothing will be the same especially when I walk into the lake house. I think I will miss water skiing without the most and being out on the lake. Let your spirit live with us all and rest in peace with our savior.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Barry Reed. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to meet Dr. Reed in person.  However, I felt like I knew him through the wonderful stories that I have heard about him from Tim and Bob.

I have known Bob as a life long friend since our teenage days, and I have known Tim as a dear friend for many years more recently. However, what I do know most clearly is that Dr. Barry Reed was a remarkable husband, Father,  grandfather, friend and Doctor.  He created a person like Tim with such a good heart and a great mind and a myriad of impressive talents and skills in between. 

Undoubtedly Dr. Barry Reed healed many, helped many, loved many, and inspired many during his life. And as a result his soul and spirit will continue on in the lives of many others forever.

I worked with Barry for several years at the Baptist ED. He always had a smile to share. I never saw him angry once! He was a competent friendly doc.  Once I took my boat on the lake to Barry’s home. He and little Tim met me and Wendy on the dock. As we were walking on the dock toward his home, little Tim, not paying attention, walked right off the dock into the lake a couple feet from me. I just stooped down and grabbed Tim by the back of his shirt and pulled him back onto the dock. Neither Tim nor Barry broke a stride as we went into his home and Barry just put on some dry clothes on Tim and we had a pleasant visit. Barry will be missed! RIP Barry!

Barry was a truly wonderful physician and his empathy for patients was always apparent. He was a kind human being.  I had the privilege to work with him at Baptist ER as an Emergency Medicine colleague from 1989 to 2000. He will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. I knew Dr Reed from working at Palmetto Baptist ER with my Mom (Mary Rowe) He was a wonderful, caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and the days to come. Beth Gibson and Mary Rowe
