Her career of 34 years with Carolina Psychiatric Services, P.A. was shortened by the COVID 19 pandemic, and ALS took her life. Mrs. Carrigan was the devoted wife of Ashton Carrigan for 62 years, raising their three daughters before beginning her work career where she was much loved by patients and staff.
Mrs. Carrigan was born in 1939, a daughter of the late Jessie and May Heise. She graduated from Columbia High School, class of 1957.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Beth Carrigan Barrett (Wrenn); Marti Carrigan; Emmie Carrigan Newberry (Wade); grandchildren Donovan Gardner (Mariel Razalan), McClary Gardner, Taylor Newberry, Rachael Newberry; Ellen Barrett Jeffcoat (Jared) and Callie Barrett; great-grandson, Jackson Jeffcoat; a sister, Pam Heise Collier (Tommy); a brother, Ben Heise (Lynn); sister-in-law Mary Green Brush (Carroll Allen); and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be at Dunbar Funeral Home Dutch Fork Chapel Wednesday, July 14, 2-4 p.m. A private burial service conducted by the Rev. Nancy Donney will be held at Rembert Church Cemetery, Woodrow, S.C. Pallbearers will include Wrenn Barrett, Tommy Collier, Donovan Gardner, McClary Gardner, Wade Newberry, and Taylor Newberry.
