Allen Hicks

Norris Allen Hicks, Jr., 67, of Columbia, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020. Born in Mt. Airy, NC, he was the son of the late Norris Allen Hicks and the late Mary Zelphia Shropshire. Allen was the husband of Carolyn Wagner Hicks.

Allen was a loving and faithful husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather. He worked at Midland Air Service Experts for thirty years when he retired on Disability in 2014 from a serious health condition.

He loved spending time at the beach and enjoyed deep sea fishing with a passion. Unfortunately, he was unable to pursue that passion after retirement because of his health. Allen also loved traveling with his wife before he became ill and they took many trips and cruises.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn; sisters, Brenda Shropshire (Marvin), Patricia Crim (James), Mary Lilly (Eddie), Lu Ann Moore (Paul), brother-in-law, Richard Wagner (Cindy); children: Heather Rae Luke (Darren), Christopher Allen Hicks, Donald S. Carter, III (Alison), Deana M. Baum (Timothy Weed); grandchildren: Darien Luke, Delaney Luke, Ashley Carter, Jonathon Carter, Braydon Carter, Matthew Carter, Dylan DeVuono, Haleigh Baum, Aliseya Baum; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his fur babies, Snow and Tidbit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Jewel Hicks; mother-in-law, Margaret E. Wagner; father-in-law, Waid P. Wagner, Sr.; brother-in-law, Waid P. Wagner, Jr. (Carol); and grandson, Pierce Baum.
