Memorial services with family and friends will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2 PM in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. A private family burial was held on Friday, July 30th, under the care of Dutton Funeral Home.
Shirley was born near Electra, TX on February 4, 1936. She was the second child, and first daughter, born to John Mann and Julia Augusta Moeller Mann. She was a 1954 graduate of Electra High School.
Shirley and William Glen Reaves were united in marriage on July 29, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harrold, TX.
Shirley went to work right after graduation at Electra State Bank. There she would begin an almost 60-year long banking career. She would continue to work at Electra State Bank for the next 25 years. After a short six-month retirement, she was then asked to work in Iowa Park at State National Bank, where she was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 1982. She retired again in 1997 for a short time but soon realized she missed working. Shirley retired for the third and final time in 2014.
When she wasn’t working she loved to crochet, sew, and participate in craft shows with her sisters. Later in life, Shirley would love to go to the casino.
In 2016, she moved to Arkansas to spend time with her grandsons, and the biggest blessings of her life, her two great-grandsons.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, William Glen Reaves, her parents, John Mann and Julia Augusta Moeller Mann, and her two brothers, John Mann and Carl Mann.
She is survived by her daughter and (as she called him) favorite son-in-law Malinda and Ed Shown of Greenwood, AR; her grandsons, Brandon Shown and fiancée Kayla Hawk of Fort Smith AR; Clinton Shown and wife Lauren of Greenwood, AR; Auston Shown and girlfriend Candace Rogers of Clarksville, AR; two great-grandsons, who were the light of her life during her last 5 years, Hudson and Landon Shown of Greenwood, AR; sisters Mary Morgan of Midland, TX; Margaret Downes of Vernon, TX; Ella Epp of Henderson, NE; a sister-in-law Shirley Mann of Hoskins, NE. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
