Shirley U Jones

Shirley Ual Jones, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and greatest friend, left us on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the age of 85. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday, February 14, 2022 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Lee, First United Methodist Church of Electra, Texas, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

Shirley was born December 8, 1936 in Olney, Texas to Ewell and Vera (King) Whitsitt. She was the best Momma that anyone could be lucky enough to have! She loved and gave everything and anything to her children, and never turned her back. She loved unconditionally and with understanding, and was known to spoil her children. Shirley was very active and loved spending time with friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Janie Peterson; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Peterson.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Gary W. Jones; daughter, Kelly Jones; son, Gary W. Jones, II and wife, Marcia Jones; grandsons, Gary W. Jones, III and Trinity Jones; and David B. Jones and wife Summer Jones; granddaughter, Kira Jones; great-granddaughter, Sydney Campbell and Kyle Bryant; great-great grandson, Leo Bryant; nephew, Ricky Peterson; niece, Connie Parnell; daughter-in-law, Marlena Hopkins; and dearest friends, David and LaVonda Delong; Stan and Donna Wojcik; and many more.
